Frequently asked questions

Find quick answers to your questions about the grant program, eligibility, and the application process.

What exactly does the You.Scaled. Accelerator Program provide? Is it cash funding?

The grant provides in-kind access to the Agentiiv AI platform until December 31, 2026. It is not a cash grant and the value ($10,000) is based on the platform subscription cost. The grant is non-exchangeable for cash.

What is the deadline to apply?

Deadline to apply is November 15, 2025.

When will I be notified about the outcome of my application?

You will be notified around November 30, 2025 of the outcome of your application.

How are the grants distributed?

We distribute grants across all regions and sectors to ensure broad accessibility. Our 500 grants support both small businesses (350 grants) and nonprofit organizations (150 grants) nationwide. We focus on key sectors including professional services, social services, retail and commerce, healthcare and education, manufacturing, technology, environmental initiatives, arts and culture, and other industries. We maintain a split between urban, rural, and remote locations, with grants reserved for minority-owned businesses and for Indigenous entrepreneurs.

Who is eligible to apply for this grant? What are the basic requirements?

Eligible applicants must be Canadian-registered businesses or nonprofit organizations. Key requirements include being operational and a registered business (with 40 employees or less) or nonprofit, being in good standing with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), and having a designated project lead for implementation.

What kind of "AI readiness" or technical setup is needed to qualify?

Applicants need basic digital readiness. This includes having reliable internet connectivity, reasonably modern hardware/software, basic security measures in place, and some form of data management practices. Operationally, having documented processes, some capacity for change management, and the ability to commit resources (like a project lead) are also important factors considered in the assessment.

Can my organization apply if we already use some AI tools?

Yes the program aims to accelerate AI adoption and meaningful implementation.

How long does the application take, and what information will I need?

The online application form is designed to take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete. You will need basic business information (good standing with CRA, industry, location), details about your current challenges and technology usage, your primary business/mission goals, and answers to brief questions about your team’s comfort with technology and your vision for implementing AI.

How are applications assessed? What are the key criteria?

Applications are assessed based on a framework that evaluates AI Readiness (including technical foundation, operational capability, and cultural readiness), your Implementation Plan (objectives, resources, timeline), and the potential Canadian Impact (economic contribution and social value). Specific points are allocated across these areas in the assessment process.

How does the nomination process work?

You can nominate yourself or another business or nonprofit. The authorized business or nonprofit owner must complete the online application and submit before the deadline. Independant judges will assess the eligible applications, and successful applicants will be notified. If they accept their grant, winners must sign a release and waiver.

What happens after the grant is awarded? What support is included?

Successful applicants enter into a structured implementation process. This includes an onboarding phase (platform setup, technical integration, initial training, support orientation), an implementation phase (guided feature adoption, process integration, performance monitoring), and an optimization phase (advanced implementation, success documentation, future planning). A comprehensive support framework is part of the program.

What kind of reporting or feedback is required from grant recipients?

Grant recipients are required to provide regular updates. This typically includes monthly reports on implementation status, platform usage, challenges, and quick wins, as well as more detailed quarterly reports covering business or mission impact, strategic achievements, and potentially ROI analysis. A final report summarizing overall impact and best practices is also required at the end of the grant period.

If I am a successful recipient, will my grant be subjected to tax?

For a small business, receiving a grant to support its operations is typically viewed by tax authorities as a form of revenue, not a tax-free gift. It is a critical step for any grant recipient to consult with their accountant to ensure proper reporting and avoid future tax liabilities.
